Annual Report 2009–10
Simply stated, Milwaukee College Prep had another stellar school year in 2009–10. Highlights include:
- being awarded WI Charter School Assoc. Charter School of the Year-Silver Award and the New WI Promise School of Recognition Award by the State Department of Public Instruction that goes to schools with a large percentage of students who receive free or reduced lunch and who have exemplary test results.
Other great results from the year include:
- 94.9% attendance in 2009–10
- 94% of the students enrolled on 9/1/09 returned for the 2010–11 school year.
- The class of 2010 were accepted and enrolled in schools including: University School, Brookfield Academy, Wayland Academy; Marquette High, Pius, Dominican, King and Riverside among others. In addition, our scholars excelled on the WKCE tests. Combined Gr.3–8 of students who are Advanced or Proficient
- MCP Math 81%
- MPS Math 52%
- WI Math 78%
- MCP Reading 85%
- MPS Reading 61%
- WI Reading 82%

Federal law also requires that we share with you the qualifications of teachers at Milwaukee College Prep. Let me say that all teachers are certified, or are enrolled in a certification program. If you want to see the state qualifications for your child’s teacher, you may ask us or find it on the DPI website (www.dpi.state.wi.us/dpi/dlsis/tel/lisearch.html). In addition, our teacher assistants are all considered qualified according to federal guidelines. If you would like more information about staff qualifications, please call Mr. Rauh at 445–8020.
Thanks for all you have done in your role of helping with homework, getting your child to school on time each day in uniform and supporting the academic environment of the school. These efforts enable us to help your child acquire the skills to be college bound.
Annual Report 2008–09
Simply stated, Milwaukee College Prep had a stellar 2008–09 school year. Highlights included:
- being named the Wisconsin Charter School of the Year;
- becoming Wisconsin’s first state School of Character;
- then being awarded the prestigious distinction of being named one of 10 National Schools of Character; and
- we were awarded the New WI Promise School of Recognition Award by the State Department of Public Instruction that goes to schools with a large percentage of students who receive free or reduced lunch and who have exemplary test results.
Other great results from 2008–09 year include:
- 95.5% attendance rate in 2008–09!
- 94.9% of the students enrolled on 9/1/08 returned for the 2009–10 school year!
- The Class of 2009 earned over a 1/2 million dollars in high school scholarship funds and are now enrolled at schools such as St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy; Piney Woods School (MS); MUHS, Pius, Dominican, King and Riverside among others.
